Lately I have been mostly knitting socks.

So, that's it really, my new obsession.

I can't help myself.

I read patterns for fun. I am always thinking about my next project, what yarn to buy and even flirt with the notion of inventing my own pattern (lofty heights I know!).

The only problem is they are not so quick to complete - but I now knit two at a time on one long circular needle. It's the only way I can master it. I have tried all other methods and failed miserably!

These are my completed projects thus far...

And I have three more pairs on the go!

I am always thrilled with the fact they actually fit, they are comfy and warm - because we all know our British Summer is happening no time soon!

I have one happy convert - the Hubbs. My life will be complete when I get one, just one of my children to want me to knit them a pair  - they really don't know what they are missing!

I will stop when I find another thing that takes over my life but for now I am happy in my little world of socks!

Is it really that long?

What I mean is, it is really that long since my last blog post.

I'm just rubbish at it really and a bit awkward writing about what I'm up to and things I've made.  (I'm the same when I have a stall at a craft fair - almost apologetic about my wares - in a kind of 'please don't feel you have to even look at it' kind of way!).

Still, I plod on albeit very slowly.

So, what have I been making recently....

More baskets than I know what to do with!

Cases for glasses

And lots of Easter bunnies.

The next fair coming up is Marys Marvellous vintage and craft market, Bramall Lane. S2 4QZ on Saturday 12th April, 10 - 4pm.

I may even get a few things listed on Etsy this week, watch this space (but maybe go and make a cuppa, put the washing out and finish all those jobs you meant to do first - I may be some time!).

It's that time of year again!

It has to be said, I'm a bit of an inconsistent blogger. It's not that idle away my day and have nothing to say (well maybe sometimes!) but I just haven't got into the routine of writing it yet. And, when I do think about it, it's time to pick up the children from school, like now! So, that's all going to change and I'm going to turn over a new leaf...I just might need prodding now and again.

Thought I'd let you know the next few craft fairs I'm doing...

slow start

So, you may have gathered that I'm not a speedy blogger. I could give you a list of excuses but the truth of the matter is my timing is a bit rubbish. I sit myself down, all ready to blog away, then I realize it's 3pm and time for the school run. There are just not enough hours in the day - oops, there's an excuse already! I just need to be better organized, end of!

What have I been filling my time with since I last wrote?...

I did have a birthday I'd been dreading since I was a child, but do you know what, it turns out that it's ok to get a bit older -  not old, just older (wisdom from a thoughtful friend).

I have been well and truly spoiled this birthday by my lovely friends and family. The icing on the cake was being whisked away by my hubby for a surprise weekend away to London and to go to the Chelsea flower show -  all those hints over the years have paid off!!

What a treat!

I also had another great day at Mary's Marvellous vintage and craft market on Saturday. Always lovely to see everyone there.

I'm actually taking a break from running my stall over the summer, back to it in September, I'll fill you in on all the details of up and coming fairs soon (soon as I stop sitting down at 3pm that is!). This will hopefully give me time to replenish stock, get a few new ideas on the go, crochet - which I haven't done in so long and maybe even make a few things for our home, which I rarely do!

Have a good week, hope to chat again soon

xx

Pottering

This week I gave myself a week off - making things that is! Instead, I have been trying to get the house into some form of order (when will I ever learn this is never going to happen?!) and spent a bit of time simply pottering around and catching up with myself.

I had yet another great day at Mary's Marvellous Vintage and Craft fair on Saturday. Great to see so many familiar faces and  to meet some lovely new people too. Once again I forgot to take any photos and since then I have broken the memory card for the camera! Still, here are a few photos I took before I messed up...

These little baskets sold really well at the craft fair, as did these...mini bunting!

So, that's my work cut out for me next week, not to mention a few orders for these...

Right, I'd better get my skates on.

I'll leave you with some photos from our Bank Holiday walk, oh for more four day weeks!

I love Paris and Sheffield!

Well, a few things have happened since my last post. A wonderful trip to the beautiful Paris to cheer on moh (my other half!) running the marathon and to celebrate a little birthday of mine! Also spent yesterday at Sharrow Vale road market running my stall.

First to Paris. What can I say but ooohhhh (la la)! It was stunning. We managed to find a lovely little hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the centre along side a market street. The markets oozed charm and character and some of the best foods I've tasted. In fact, we pretty much ate our way around paris!

I was very restrained in my fabric purchases, but the choice was fantastic. There are so many lovely fabric shops in Montmartre it made me a bit giddy!

Yesterday I was helped by the whole family at the Sharrow Vale Road market, a place close to my heart after spending much of my student days here. The rain held off for pretty much most of the afternoon, apart from 5 minutes from the end! Still, with my trusty little helpers we managed to get everything away in record time and only had to dry out a couple of things at home!

So, I am now putting my energies into the next fair - Mary's marvellous vintage and craft market on Bramall Lane, Saturday 5th May.  I love this fair. There is so much variety. All the money made from it goes back into the community which is just great.

Well, I didn't mean to ramble on for so long, so sorry!! Better get crafting.

Catch you soon x x
